| "When James was initially
diagnosed, I felt shattered but at the same time relieved. Before the
diagnosis, I felt as though no-one was listening to me. Although I don’t
like the idea of James being labelled, it was the label that would make
things change. "Initially I was hoping Conductive Education would open some doors for him and in a way it has. Physically, James falls over a lot, bumps into things, can’t run with his friends. "He can ride his bike but can’t play physically demanding games like football. Conductive Education teaches him ways to help with this. "Self-esteem also used to be an issue for James as he was aware that there was something different about him. Since coming to Conductive Education he has seen an improvement in himself so his confidence and self-esteem have improved. "You’ve got to be positive about the future. All children have got something inside them that they’re good at, it’s just a matter of getting to it. The conductors know how to find the potential in a child and know exactly how to bring it out of them." |
