5K Fun Run & 10K RACE 2008
Sunday 28th September

On the 28th September 2008 The Foundation for Conductive Education held its third sponsored 10k race around Cannon Hill Park and a 5K fun run.

The race went extremely well, with the weather also holding out for us! We had a turnout of 250 runners this year which included runners from professional clubs such as Bournville Harriers, Centurian RC and the Vegan Runners club, and also many first time runners, so congratulations on running a fantastic race!

The 10K Race began at 10.30am at Cannon Hill House and the first runner crossed the line at around 11.02am. The event was then followed by a prize presentation back at the National Institute of Conductive Education here at Cannon Hill House. Also, a big congratulations to all runners who successfully achieved personal bests.

The race was once again a tremendous success, helping us raise over £2,000 from entry fees alone, with more money to be raised from sponsorship. Please send any sponsorship in before the end of October to be in with the chance to win a fantastic prize! We have heard a great deal of positive feedback from the day, particularly regarding the support and friendliness of the marshals, so once again I must say a huge thank you to all those who helped out on the day, in particular Martin Foster, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Thank you once again for a great day and helping to make a difference to the lives of children and adults affected by physical disabilities, I hope to see you all in 2009 for the next 10k race!
