The Arctic Dog Sled Challenge

21st-27th March 2008

How far would you go to help people with disabilities?

We need your help

Suited to those who would like a taste of dog sledding, this Arctic experience provides a challenge like no other.

You’ll be surrounded by a frozen landscape 300 miles north of the Arctic Circle with only the sound of the panting Alaskan huskies and crunching of the snow under the sled’s runners for company. This is a unique chance to be a member of a 10-strong team who will be given expert training in dog sledding. You will be instructed on how to handle your team of dogs and how to negotiate a sled through some of the most exceptional terrain in the world.

Crossing this vast white wilderness at speed you stop occasionally to catch your breath and take in your surroundings. Herds of wild reindeer roam the Arctic tundra and in the evening you may catch sight of the Northern Lights. Join us for the adventure of a lifetime and help people with disabilities achieve the independence they deserve.

This Arctic adventure is a truly spectacular challenge in every sense - it will be action-packed, fun filled and exciting, offering many once-in-a-lifetime experiences. As you explore this stunning frozen wilderness, you may encounter extreme cold temperatures and working together as a team and with the dogs can be tiring. Therefore, the fitter and more prepared you are for this expedition, the more you will be able to enjoy the experience to the full.

By husky sledding and seeing the Aurora Borealis you will be able to cross two items off the BBC's "50 things to do before you die" list, the other 48 are up to you!
