The Great Wall Challenge

24th September – 4th October 2009

How many steps would you take to help someone down the stairs?

“You are not a man if you have not
been to the Great Wall”

– so the saying goes in China.
Stretching for 6,000kms, the Great Wall begins zigzags its way across China, ending at the Jiayuguan Pass in the desert of Western China.

Enjoy fabulous scenery, unparalleled views of the Great Wall and immerse yourself in a rich culture and history. Enjoy an optional extra trip to see one of China's highlights, the awesome Terracotta Warriors. No experience necessary, just a “can do” attitude and a sense of adventure – all flights and accommodation and most meals included.

Stretching 6000km in a dotted line across China, the Great Wall was begun in the 5 century. As it snakes across the mountains and conjures up an incredible sense of history – and connects us to the vast remoteness of rural China.

The trek is very varied, as the team pass through woodland and terraced farmland, following the contours of these beautiful mountains north of Beijing – almost always within sight of the Great Wall.
