Sponsorship and Fundraising

To take part in this challenge, you will need to pay a registration fee of £375 and commit to raising a minimum of £2795 in sponsorship. £1400 of this will pay for your trip costs, with the remaining sponsorship helping to change the lives of children and adults with disabilities.

Where do I start?

Although the amount may seem a little daunting, it is very easy to break down and soon becomes much more achievable. As a small charity, we are proud of all the help and support we give to participants during their fundraising. Most people are surprised by the generosity of others, and don’t just achieve their target, they raise much more!

“I couldn’t believe how generous everyone was – I raised £5000 in a matter of weeks. My local pub even asked everyone for an extra £1 when ordering a round – and the money came rolling in!”

Top 5 tips!

1. Set up an online sponsor page on www.justgiving.com – it’s so easy to do! E mail it to everyone you know, then they can sponsor you quickly and easily online. Click here to find out more

2. Ask your employer whether they operate a match giving scheme – this is a simple way of doubling your money!

3. Get in touch with local schools and ask them to hold a ‘wear what you want day’ in aid of the challenge. If every child pays £1, you can raise £500 in no time!

4. Organise an event and invite all your friends, family and colleagues - everyone will have a great time and you will raise vital funds. A simple pub quiz with everyone paying just £5 each can raise £800.

5. Be creative – the more innovative your ideas, the more likely you are to raise money!

“We thoroughly enjoyed the fundraising, which included car washing, a raffle, an auction, cake sales and much more. It was tiring but very rewarding!”
