The Foundation for Conductive Education

Dinner

Guy Munnoch and Gary Wainwright from Zurich , Sharon Hopwood, parent of Thomas from Early Intervention at NICE.

On 6th June 2007 a dinner was hosted by Zurich to celebrate the partnership between our two organisations. The event, held at Highbury Hall was attended by guests of both Zurich and the Foundation for Conductive Education.

Steve Grimmett, Senior Programme Manager, Zurich Community Trust (UK) Ltd “Since 2003, Zurich has been working in partnership with FCE, through the Zurich Community Trust, Zurich’s charitable arm in the UK. During that time we have seen the immense value of the services that FCE have to offer. This evening presented us with an opportunity to open the door for FCE to some of Zurich’s key customers and suppliers. We hope that some of these will choose to support FCE in the future.”

Our speaker was Sharon Hopwood, whose son Thomas now attends Early Intervention but started Conductive Education through the Parent and Child programme. This service is currently sponsored by Zurich and provides free Conductive Education for under three’s. Sharon’s exceptionally powerful and emotive speech really portrayed how Conductive Education has made such a difference to the whole family. “It was a really important and well timed experience for me - despite the nerves - as it’s refreshed my commitment to CE and made me appreciate Thomas and what he’s taught me all the more.”

“As Senior Sponsor for Zurich I am hugely involved in our relationship with The Foundation for Conductive Education. Hosting the recent dinner with our CEO Guy Munnoch helped us to profile what we do together and enable local business leaders to hear at first hand about the excellent work The Foundation does for the local and wider community. I truly believe it is important for business to give something back to the community and it is essential for all of us to try our very best to do this. Our relationship with The Foundation gives us the perfect opportunity to do this”
Gary Wainwright Director, Broker Zurich UK General Insurance.

Our thanks go to Zurich for their support and generosity.
