It was a great day, if a little wet, with many runners running for the first time as well as runners from professional running clubs. At 9.55am all the runners congregated outside the National Institute ready to go and at 10.00am Midlands Today presenter Bob Huckenhull sent the runners off to complete the race, leaving us to wait for the first person to finish. At about 10.33am the first person ran through the finish line closely followed by the rest of the runners and before we knew it, the race was over. The race was a great success that helped us to raise over £900 on entry fees alone! 135 runners finished the race all of whom gave glowing reports on how they had enjoyed the route, despite the rain, and would love to take part again! We couldn’t have run the race at all without Martin Foster. So a big thank you to him, to all who helped support us on the day and to Bournville Harriers for all their assistance. It was a great event, with a great atmosphere, one that we hope to recreate next year! Have a look
