The Foundation for Conductive Education
14 July 05
Wine Tasting
An excellent night was had by all at the first Midlands Wine Tasting event organised by The Foundation for Conductive Education and by LionHeart (the charity for RICS members and their families) at Après, Summer Row in Birmingham on 14 July 2005. Fifty-six entrants took part in the blind-tasting competition which featured wines from throughout the world described by Clive Witcomb of Churchill Vintners.
Chivers Connoisseurs

The winning team (with 7 out of 8 points) were Chivers Connoisseurs (of Chivers Commercial, Birmingham), closely beating the Sour Grapes team in the crucial tie breaker question – “Which 17th century monk developed champagne?”*

The Bar Stewards (of Curry and Partners, Birmingham) were in final place and received their consolation prizes in good spirit.

Over £1,000 was raised for the two charities who would like to thank the event sponsors; Clive Witcomb of Churchills Vintners, and Après in Birmingham for their generous support.
