Jose, who completed her sky dive recently

Read all about Jose, who completed her sky dive recently for the Foundation......

"Middle aged, slightly overweight asthmatic wanted for sky dive. Must be unfit and not participate in any other sports.

Does this sound enticing? Well, this describes me and I have just done it, so if I can do it, and you are thinking of it, what are you waiting for?

I was blessed with a bright sunny day and did the dive at Hinton Skydive centre. It was a very friendly, reassuring and welcoming place and easy to find. There were all ages and types of people there having a good time and I didn’t feel at all nervous or apprehensive.

There seem to be two types of people who enjoy skydiving, those who like the free fall and those who prefer the slower parachute descent. I was the latter and have to say it was one of the most magical things I have ever experienced.

The scariest part was worrying in case I couldn't raise enough sponsorship to cover the cost of the jump, especially when it coincided with so many other sponsored events, including the London Marathon. My fears were totally unjustified as skydiving really seems to capture the imagination, either people would love to do it themselves or pay up because they are too scared to do it themselves! The pleasure derived from the dive is definitely less than knowing it has been for a totally worthy cause.

So if you have any doubts, I shall quote that famous advert ‘Just Do It!’. Regards, Jose"

I did it! - Well done Jose!
