Challenges: Foundation Corporate Golf Day 16/05/2012

We are already planning our golf day for 2012, and we are inviting you to participate. Over the years, our golf day has developed a reputation for excellence, and provides a perfect opportunity for entertaining clients.

Our 2012 event will be held at the prestigious Little Aston Golf Club, which many golfers regard as English parkland golf at its very best. Attention to detail and a very high standard of conditioning can be experienced throughout, right down to the practice putting green laid out in a beautiful rockery. It’s a challenging course, asking a lot from every standard of golfer, and its fairways are second to none.

The competition will be a Stableford, shotgun start. We will have a delicious light lunch, a relaxing and enjoyable afternoon of golf, halfway house refreshments and an excellent three course prizegiving dinner with wine.

The entry fee for a team of four will be £500 and we are currently taking bookings for what promises to be a most popular event. Teams can be entered by companies or by individuals acting on behalf of the team. Handicaps of 28 or less are required, but for the competition, 24 will be the maximum allowable.

Challenges: Severn Trent Volunteer 27/07/2011

Dominga Devitt, Fundraiser for Cannon Hill House, organised a team challenge day on 27th July with a team of volunteers from Severn Trent Water drawn from regional offices across the East and West Midlands. The day was facilitated by the Birmingham Council for Voluntary Service.

25 Severn Trent staff rolled up their sleeves and carried out some much needed painting and gardening work all around the site at Cannon Hill House. In addition they valeted the Foundation’s minibus and pool car, as well as staging an impromptu charity car wash which raised £65.

Jan Dukes, one of the volunteers from Severn Trent expressed the view of all those who took part that it was a most beneficial day both for themselves as a team, and for the Foundation. She commented “After Dominga’s talk about the work done by the foundation, I think we all realised what a worthwhile charity we were contributing to. We had a great day working together as a team and felt a sense of achievement at the end of it, but most importantly, we had been able to help the Foundation, and the people who are so dependent on the excellent work they do.”
